Diana Butler Bass - November 4-5

A weekend exploration of memoir and theology as Dr. Diana Butler Bass leads us through scripture and narrative to discover how our stories intersect with God and each other. Saturday, November 4 @ 10 am—Diana Butler Bass will present, “Freeing Jesus: Our Stories and the Adventure of Faith.” Dr. Butler Bass will also deliver the message during both worship services on Sunday, November 5. She will have closing thoughts following brunch at 12:30 pm. Thanks to the Living Legacy Group for sponsoring Diana Butler Bass’ appearance at LCR.

Living Legacy Project Updates:

God's Global Barnyard

During Advent, we are collecting money to donate to "God's Global Barnyard," and ELCA Good Gifts ministry that helps provide animals and education on their proper care to communities in need throughout the world. The Living Legacy Fund is matching donations from the congregation, up to $500, which is the equivalent of donating money for 10 goats.

Lent Service Projects

This year during Lent, our theme was “Feast on the Word” and “Feed the World.” We are collected 899 non-perishable food donations for the Churches of Marion Food Pantry and LCR’s Living Legacy Fund matched with a monetary donation. Monetary donations were also matched to $1500 and forwarded to ELCA World Hunger. The congregation was able to send a total of $4608 to ELCA World Hunger.

Reverse Advent Project

The Living Legacy Fund donated $1 for each item donated to the Churches of Marion Food Pantry through the Reverse Advent Project, up to $1500! The congregation donated over 1,500 items, so $1500 was given to the Food Pantry!
