HANDICRAFT GROUPS
HANDICRAFT GROUPS
Comforting Hands Quilters
Mondays | 9 - 11:30 am
Help make tied quilts that are given to children and adults at local shelters, Salvation Army, Red Cross, the Veterans Hospital, through Lutheran World Relief, and anyone else that may be in need! Everyone is welcome to join – it is not necessary to have sewing skills to be part of this group, as many tasks are available.
Woodcarving Group
Thursdays | 6:00 pm
Join this group as they work on individual projects teaching and helping each other. Members work on relief carvings, in-the round, chip carvings, and other styles. If you’ve ever wanted to learn woodcarving or would enjoy some fellowship while you carve, you are welcome. No experience is necessary. Come by and we’ll help you get started. All ages are welcome!
Resurrection Woodworkers also design and build projects for the church like the worship furnishings, library bookshelves, and office cabinetry. When projects are requested, teams of woodworkers work together to build and finish the project using the woodworking shop at the church. The Woodworkers also help other congregations. Open to anyone interested in woodworking, whether you have experience or want to learn.
Knitting & Crocheting Ministry
Thursdays | 6:00 pm
On Break November 16 - March 7
This is one fun evening each week making projects for those in need. Bring your own needles and yarn. Those who do other yarn crafting are welcome, too! All ages are welcome!
Update 27 October
The LCR knitting and crochet group will be taking time off from meeting at the church from November 16th - March 7th. You can still contribute but from the comfort of your own warm and cozy home! Contact Pam through the church office if you have items to drop off or you need yarn. We are working on a campaign for Families Helping Families, an organization that works with foster families and kids that are aging out, to get them the things they need for winter. So please join us in making scarves, mittens, hats for this great cause! We have tons of yarn so please talk to Pam and she will guide you to where all of the yarn is kept. If you need needles, look no further! We have a lot of different sizes.
